Learning is fun
At its core, learning is about experimenting, playing, going on adventures, getting dirty, getting lost in a story, building things, diving deep into studying fascinating subjects. Our brains are wired for this kind of engagement with the world.
Somewhere along the way, the traditional school structure forgot this amid endless testing, mind-numbing worksheets, and relentless homework. As a private educator, I work outside of that system to create learning environments where kids flourish. If your kid has lost that spark, that curiosity, or zest for learning, we should talk.
I am happy to work with you to create a customized learning solution for your child (5-16 years old). Some of the options I’ve offered other local families:
- full-year, full-time academic support
- supplemental support outside of the school schedule
- short-term, intensive instruction in reading, writing, & math
About Beth McKeon
I’ve been instilling learning confidence and independence in students of all ages for over a decade. Prior to opening Bright Brain Studio in 2010, I honed my instructional and management skills working for Lindamood-Bell® for nearly eight years. I served as an instructor and team manager in their private learning centers across the country, I also served as a professional development coach training teachers in Title I schools how to use Lindamood-Bell® programs in their classrooms in two school districts in Colorado and New Mexico. I earned my Masters degree from Columbia University and my Bachelors degree from Southern Methodist University.
I started Bright Brain Studio so that I could work directly with students and parents to transform the way they approach learning. While my work is informed by the training and experience I received from Lindamood-Bell®, I bring a unique and crucial benefit to my instruction: I absolutely refuse to believe learning has to be painful, discouraging, or hard.
I act as a facilitator of learning for my students, rather than as a lecturer seeking to impose knowledge. And there is invariably silliness and a sense of play in everything we do. The result? Students become self-directed learners with enormous confidence and enthusiasm.
The first step is to schedule a short 30-45 minute consultation. I want to hear your child’s education story and learn more about what you are looking for. From there, I can put together a proposal of options that meet your needs. To get started, please complete this contact form. I’ll give you a call to schedule your free consultation.
